The Paraflex bass system represents a radical breakthrough in low frequency reproduction. By using two enclosures for the entire low frequency range, phenomenally high output levels with extremely quick response time are achieved.
The Paraflex 640 operates in the upper bass ranges and utilises cutting edge technology found in the aircraft industry. The entire enclosure is built around a 44 cm piston that is used to create a departure wave with a circular pattern. This circular wave pattern is then converted to a square wave pattern by the use of a throat conductance transformer. The resulting gain in performance by correct wave pattern converting is enormous and can only be achieved by utilising the latest technology in construction materials.
Another ground breaking application of technology found in the Paraflex 640 is the tension bar. A steel bar is attached to the rear cavity, the piston and though the rear of the enclosure. The tension bar enables the whole enclosure to have its resonance manipulated and is factory tensioned for optimum performance. Benefits of the tension bar include greater output due to an improved resonant match of components and less colouration from cabinet noise.
